Find the Friction. Remove the Friction.
Most growth audits look at the same things. Pipeline metrics. Conversion rates. CAC and LTV. Channel performance. They're not wrong to look there, but they're looking at symptoms, not causes.
What they miss: the humans and the journey they need to take together to align on what matters most for your customers.
The frontline sales rep who knows exactly why prospects go dark after the second demo. The onboarding specialist who's watched the same customers disengage at the same moment for two years. The customer success manager who can predict churn three months out – not from a dashboard, but from a feeling she's learned to trust. That knowledge exists inside every organization. Most audits never touch it.
That's the gap the 7As was built to close.
In the previous post I shared the CLG Method™ – a set of human-first frameworks for igniting customer-led growth. Now we're going deep on the 7As, which break down the customer journey into logical steps for cross-functional teams.
The 7As is a diagnostic framework for auditing the entire customer journey – not just the metrics, but the human truth behind them. It maps seven stages from first awareness to active advocacy and at every stage it asks the same underlying question: where is friction slowing growth and what do the people closest to it already know about why and how to solve it?
The result isn't just an audit. It's a shared picture – created by your people, not imposed on them – of exactly where growth is working, where it's stalling, and a vision for what to do about it.
This is how we ignite customer-led growth. By turning the funnel into a frictionless pipe, we amplify the brand and accelerate business growth.
Here's what each stage covers.
A1 – Audiences/Customers+Insights. Do you know your customers by heart? Not demographics – their problems, motivations, and the moments that matter. This is where we start, and where internal truth-telling matters most. AI can accelerate the synthesis. Your people provide the signal.
A2 – Awesomeness/Positioning+Product. What is your genuine differentiation? What's the precise language that resonates with your ideal customer in human terms, not speeds and feeds? Weak positioning kills pipelines that good products should be winning. This stage finds the gap between what you think you're saying and what customers actually hear.
A3 – Amplification/Awareness+Storytelling. How are you building awareness and shaping perception? What stories are you telling and are they breaking through? This isn't just about channels and spend. It's about whether your narrative is compelling enough to earn attention in a crowded market.
A4 – Acquisition/Leads+Sales. Where and how are you reaching your ideal customers with quality? Are your channels optimized? Are your partners enabled? Are your sales-led and product-led motions working together or against each other? This stage exposes the friction most companies are too close to see.
A5 – Activation/Onboarding+Engagement. How do you turn a new user into an active one? The first 30, 60, 90 days are where retention is won or lost – and where most companies underinvest. This stage maps the onboarding experience against what customers actually need to succeed.
A6 – Adoption/Expansion+Retention. Are you deepening customer relationships or just maintaining them? This stage looks at retention, upsell, and expansion – and finds the moments where value could be reinforced but isn't. Revenue growth lives here.
A7 – Advocacy/Virality+Referrals. What turns customers into loyal AND vocal advocates? How are you generating referrals, case studies, and viral and verbal word-of-mouth at scale? Most companies leave this stage almost entirely to chance. The 7As treats it as a system.
Each stage produces OKRs, investment priorities, and clear ownership – so the audit doesn't end in a deck that gets filed away. It ends in action.
And because it's built with the people who live the customer journey every day – not just the executives who oversee it – the insights are grounded in truth. People who help diagnose a problem have a vested interest in solving it.
That's what most audits miss. That's what 7As doesn't.
This is how we ignite customer-led growth. By turning the funnel into a frictionless pipe, we amplify the brand and accelerate business growth.
