Let’s Help Each Other

I’m seeing a pattern.

In almost every conversation I’m having right now, I’m meeting one of two people.

The first: someone in a seat. A CMO, a VP of Marketing, a growth leader inside a company. All super talented and experienced. Executing hard, managing teams, hitting numbers – or trying to. They know AI is transforming everything. They feel the urgency, but they’re too deep in the day job to go as deep on AI as they want. They’re experiencing professional FOMO from knowing that the world is changing faster than their calendar allows them to learn.

The second: someone between roles. Deliberate, curious, unburdened – for now. They’ve used the transition to go deep on all things AI: tools, GTM transformation, agentic workflows, the human/agentic continuum. They’ve done the reading, attended all the webinars, defined the experiments, and developed the point of view. They’re not waiting for the world to catch up. They’re craving an opportunity to put it to work.

The irony: they’re experiencing the same problem from opposite ends.

One has the context, the mandate, the team, the budget, but little time to learn. The other has the knowledge, the energy, the point of view, but no platform to apply it. They need each other.

The person in the seat needs a thought partner, a fast collaborator, someone who has already done the hard work of getting smart and can bring those insights and that intelligence to bear on a real problem, quickly.

The person between roles needs exactly what the other has: a real problem, a customer journey, a brand, and a team to empower, enable, and execute experiments. A growth engine that needs to be rebuilt or reimagined – with AI from the start, not bolted on at the end.

This isn’t a new idea. Great operators have always known that transitions – someone’s transition – are some of the highest-leverage moments in a business. The energy of a person ready to prove something, applied to a real problem, with real urgency, is a force multiplier.

What’s new is the stakes. Because the companies that figure out how to transform their GTM with AI – who know which roles to keep human, which to augment, and which to automate – in the next 12 to 24 months are going to build a competitive advantage that’s very hard to close.

That work needs both people.

So here’s my ask.

If you’re the person in the seat – overwhelmed, curious, behind on AI – I’d love to connect you with someone who can help. A peer who has done the thinking and wants to apply it as a partner.

If you’re the person between roles – ready, smart, itching – tell me. Share what you’ve learned, what you’ve built, what you’re ready to take on. I’m talking to leaders every week who need exactly what you have.

If you’re running a PE-backed company, a portfolio business, or a growth team and you’re thinking ‘this describes my exact situation’ – let’s talk. The 90-day process we run at CLG Partners was built for exactly this moment: aligning your leadership team around the customer, transforming your GTM with AI, and deploying people and agents where they create the most value.

We need each other. Email me, whichever person you are.
